FALL in Love With Kamloops

FALL in Love With Kamloops

As summer comes to a close it’s easy to mourn the hot days on the river, late night ice cream treats at Riverside Park, or spontaneous trips to any one of the awesome lakes surrounding our city. However, Kamloops is so much more than just a summer city! One of the best things about Kamloops is that it is able to effortlessly shift gears and shine bright in every season. There’s never a shortage of activities or adventures in this place. Fall isn’t the longest season by any means, but you can bet Kamloops has you covered for all the fun Fall festivities and adventures.

Sometimes summer can get a little too sweaty (and smoky) to explore the amazing hikes we have all around us. September and early October are actually great times to find favorite new trails, and enjoy nature at all parts of the day instead of just early mornings (in an attempt to beat the heat). Kenna Cartwright Park and Battle Bluff are a couple of perfect hiking trails to check out during the Fall! Both are easy access and have incredible views of Kamloops once you conquer them! We’ve even linked them here for you!

In a city like Kamloops, Fall means HOCKEY season officially begins, and boy are we proud of our WHL team the Kamloops Blazers. Their regular season this year kicks off today, September 23rd, against the Portland Winterhawks! Get your tickets now! Some other exciting news in the hockey world is that Kamloops is hosting the Memorial Cup this year which means this season is going to be epic! It’s so amazing, and electric to see how our community comes together to support the Blazers so be sure to catch a game, or two… or three this season!

Thompson Rivers University sports teams also ramp up in the Fall with games for various sports scheduled almost every weekend! Go Wolfpack!

Now for the obvious, let’s talk pumpkins! We have a couple patches and corn mazes that pop up around this area towards the end of September and early October. They are great places to go on dates, family outings or just indulge your inner child! Check out Sunset Valley Farm just past the airport! You can’t do Fall without a pumpkin or two. Did you know we also do a pumpkin drive each year? The perfect option for those of you who are too busy to make it to an actual patch, but still want to get in on the action. Stay tuned for when we announce the dates later this month!

And lastly, this year Spookloops (put on by Tourism Kamloops) has events planned all throughout October for all ages. From pumpkin patches and scary movies to haunted houses, they have you covered! Check out their website for more details!

Kamloops never ceases to amaze us with how versatile and diverse it is, not only as a community, but as a place to put down roots. There’s never a dull moment or a boring season around here, which makes it the perfect place to thrive. Honorary mentions go to the amazing golf courses and wineries we have in town that are still great options for “things to do” in the earlier stages of Fall.

Now go have a fabulous Fall!
